The location of the Boatside Inn in the next village along is a great advantage, as it offers a peaceful and scenic setting away from the hustle and bustle. the exterior of the inn is beautifully adorned with vibrant hanging baskets and troughs, creating a welcoming atmosphere. the accommodation at the back is clean and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay.

The absence of doggy biscuits in the dog-friendly bar area is an oversight that could be improved upon.

Spacious rooms with powerful showers and a good breakfast selection. The pub offers high-quality food and friendly, efficient staff. The location is perfect for lovely walks in the area, with great views of the countryside. Plus, the pub is dog-friendly!

Sadly, the service can be quite slow, making dining feel rushed. At times, the food can have minor issues that detract from the overall experience, such as burnt buns or soggy Yorkshire puddings.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in many ways. the value for money was fantastic, with prices that were surprisingly affordable compared to other places we've stayed. Secondly, the attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the well-maintained rooms with a good power shower in the bathroom to the impressive breakfast options. Lastly, the staff provided excellent service, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We also loved the location, with the next village along offering charming surroundings to explore.

No improvements needed, everything was perfect.

The hotel in the next village along proved to be a hidden gem. The spacious and well-planned rooms made for a comfortable stay, while the convenient inn next door provided delicious breakfast and dinner options. The rural location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions like Hexham and Hadrian's Wall, and the easy drive into Newcastle was an added bonus. The warm welcome from the staff and the astonishing range of food on the menu, with generous portions, exceeded our expectations. Plus, the impressive breakfast was the perfect start to each day.
